Great Little Helpers

I have the greatest little helpers sometimes! They love to help with anything that I will let them. I need to appreciate their help a little more some days and remember that it is not going to last too much longer before they will be complaining about having to help. I know that I am suppose to be training these little ones and I am having a hard time letting go of my neat freak ways. It kills me to let them help with some things, like cleaning the sinks in the bathroom because they don't spit shine the faucet like I would, or folding clothes, because the clothes aren't neatly stacked when we are done folding (We have three different piles of everything, wadded up wash clothes from MaCade, and some socks rolled and some socks folded together because Brynlee can't decide which way she would like to do it). I am trying to be better when they want to help to say, "Sure" and then teach them how to PROPERLY do it.
They wanted to help feed Dallin. "Poor, Poor Dallin" I thought, but with my new goal in mind I said, "Sure" and they actually did a pretty decent job. I like to clean off Dallin's mouth with the spoon after every bite, but he did'nt die or even seem to mind that his mouth wasn't cleaned off and that he had oatmeal all over his mouth. Good Job! Brynlee and MaCade.

Here are some funny things that the kids have been doing lately.

Brynlee was trying to reach a balloon that had floated up to the ceiling. When she couldn't reach it from the floor she said she was going to get her tall shoes and then she would be able to reach it. When that didn't work she got a chair and then her tall shoes thinking she would be able to get it. She almost got it! Pretty clever, but she might just need to grow a little taller.

MaCade noticed that I was showing Dallin himself in the mirror so he climbs up on a chair and says, "I want to see my picture." I thought it was pretty funny.

Dallin will sometimes clap his hands when we sing patty cake. He is getting big fast!

  1. Your kids are so adorable! I have a hard time letting Kade help me with things too because I am a neat freak. Parenting is a lot harder than it ever looked :)

  2. I need to do better at that whole "I want to help" thing. It is so much easier to say "not right now" but I know I should let them. In fact, I caught myself a couple times today remembering what "Gwen" said about teaching them the right way....so thanks. You are in inspiration!

  3. Yes you do have some "good little helpers!" I guess it's good that they want to help, right? Pretty soon they won't want to be "helpers" anymore! I hope that all is going well for you!
