The second day we drove over to Martins Cove and had an early breakfast and treked to the cove where the pioneers got caught in winter storms. We were on the other extreme of weather and it was hot!
We crossed the river where a couple of pioneer boys helped carry everyone across when it was winter and icy. I can't imagine how much that would have hurt
On the way back the boys were trying to keep cool with the rest of us!
We then went to see Indepence Rock. Chad and the kids climbed up and saw the autographs on top.
Trek was an amazing experience. It was so awesome to walk were the pioneers walked and to have a taste of what they were willing to do for religious freedom. I honestly don't know if I could be that strong. I love the conveniences of my life. I have it so GOOD! I am grateful that so many people were willing to sacfice so much back then.
