We decided to take a Saturday and go for a picnic and drive. We headed out west of town then to the middle of no where. Chad wanted to go see Fish Springs National Wildlife Reserve. We followed the Pony Express Route for quite a while. It was amazing to see just a little glimpse of how far they carried mail. Thank goodness things have gotten faster. We stopped in Vernon for a treat at the local store and found a church parking lot to have lunch. At the fish reserve we found a pay phone. My kids had never seen one before. I was hoping that it was working so we could call someone on it, but it was broken. It was a good day and we made some family memories!
