Portland Roadtrip Part Two

After Chad was done with his conference on Wednesday we tried the locally raved ice cream spot. I have to say it was a hit! Then we headed up north and drove along the Washington Coast, we camped at Fort Stevens Park near the ocean for the night.

Thursday we drove most of the day along the coast and stopped to eat some crab legs (which was one thing that was high on the to do list!) and to play once in awhile. We camped outside of Forks,Washington in a really pretty campground.

Friday we got up and drove out to La Push, Washington. It was a really pretty area, then we kept on trucking along and went through Olympic National Park. We stopped to do a little hike to some waterfalls. I can't believe how green everything is! It was so pretty! Chad wanted to catch the ferry across to Seattle so we jumped in the car after our hike and drove like mad so we wouldn't miss the ferry ride. The kids thought it was great to park your car on a boat and ride across the water. We camped out in a little town called Mineral because we were after dark trying to find a camping spot. It was a miserable night because there were some people partying all night long!

Saturday we got up and went through Mt. Rainer National Park. I have to say that this drive was one of my favorite ones. It was so beautiful! We went through Pasco to see Chad's sister and brother's families and ended up back at his parents house. We then left our children with their Grandpa and Grandma for four days. It was a super fun trip!
