Yesterday was Chad's Birthday. He turned the big 34. I had a great idea to make an ice cream cake roll and make it look like logs from a campfire. It didn't turn out so well, the cake did not want to cooperate when I went to roll it, it turned into a crumbly mess, but luckily Chad is old enough and kind enough to understand that his cake didn't quite have the look that I was going for. (I was so tempted to throw it away and start over, but resisted.) It still tasted pretty good.
This year I tried to surprise Chad, which is next to impossible I might add, and bought him a Utah State shirt that he has been wanting and a denim quilt that he has been asking me to make for him for a few years now(okay maybe even longer). Happy Birthday Chad!!
