The local motel closes at 10:00pm and you don't get there until 11:00pm so they put your key in an envelope and tape it to the front of the door for you and tell you to come by sometime in the morning to square up.
You go to breakfast in one of the three restaurants and you are the only ones in there for the entire time that you order and eat.
The Kindergarten teacher is willing to come on her day off (Martin Luther King Day)to meet with you
The Elementary school doesn't have a principal but a head teacher, and first grade and second grade share a teacher and this continues all the way up to sixth grade.
The Elementary school playground in the local park too
There are only three options to rent out a house
You talk to people and everyone seems to be related to everyone else.
Any shopping or big businesses seem to take at least two hours or more to get to
The other end of town is only two minutes away
The nearest hospital is an hour away
Does this sound enticing to anyone?
If it does you can come join us in the little town of Escalante, Utah. We will be moving there in February. Chad and I went down this last weekend and checked out the place. With all joking aside we are excited to go on this adventure and I think the kids will LOVE it. There are lots of outdoor activities to occupy our time and many new thing that we have never seen before. So here we come Escalante.
