Easter Weekend

Our Easter was a basket full of fun. Chad took Friday off and we headed for Idaho. We took a pit stop at the Golden Spike where his dad had been volunteering for a week. He was helping get the trains ready for summer use. I didn't know this, but during the summer,at the vistor center they reenact when the two railroads met. It was fun to actually stop here and see it. I don't know how many times we have passed the Golden Spike sign on the interstate going to Chad's parents and said, "We should stop there some time" and just kept on driving.(Only for about nine years now)Thanks Joel for voluteering there so we would stop and see what was out there.

On Saturday we had the big family Easter Egg hunt. Which is always fun for all the kids.

Brynlee showing Grandma Savage her lute.

I don't know what story is being told here but I thought it was funny.

And it is always tradition that all the girls paint thier lips blue with the blue robin eggs and take a picture together after the easter egg hunt. I am not sure who started this or why we do it but I think it is great!

This Easter was extra special for our family. It was Dallin's first Easter, Brynlee's Birthday(She was super excited to share Easter with 5th birthday),and we got to spend it with Chad's parents and his Grandma Savage.

Chad always talks about the fun things he use to do with his Grandma Savage, and one of those things was making taffy with her, so this last weekend we got to enjoy making it with her. I love learning how to do things that our grandparents know how to do and use to do. Grandma Savage is also an amazing oil painter and Brynlee loved sitting there watching her paint while telling stories.
